Life inside a sleepy retirement home doesn’t provide much excitement for the four elderly friends at the center of heartfelt Emirati comedy On Borrowed Time. But when one of the men receives a huge and unexpected inheritance from a recently-deceased relative, the four friends decide to fully embrace their remaining years with this new lease on life. Enlisting the help of an unwitting nurse, they manage to escape the retirement home and set about taking Dubai by storm. Providing an offbeat look at life in contemporary Dubai, On Borrowed Time also offers a touching take on universal themes of self-discovery, friendship, and getting older.
